New Poolhouse

Replacing the existing shed structure which contained the pool filter system and bathroom required designing this new building around the existing pump and filter location. The new poolhouse is the result of attentive collaboration with the homeowners to realize a concept for an octagonal space with a catwalk mezzanine. Features of this beautiful structure are a spacious indoor dining area, octagonal skylight, spiral stair to the whimsical catwalk above, ample natural light, a new bathroom and changing area, dry sauna, kitchen area, gas fireplace, and covered outdoor barbeque space.

The vaulted ceiling with a central octagonal skylight.

Supported by steel cable connected to beams above, the finely detailed catwalk is a feature from the inside as well as views from the windows above.

As seen from the pool, the octagonal poolhouse and barbeque porch beckon. The restroom and changing area are located on the right; gracious double doors access the large interior gathering space; the pool equipment room is to the left. Garage windows can be seen beyond through the porch.
